Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a networking meeting at the Entrepreneurship Club.
I really enjoy networking and I am pleased that it is becoming increasingly popular in Poland. In the USA, it is standard, because business is primarily about relationships! ✅
Every person I meet is very interesting to me, and I enjoy listening to other people’s businesses, as I learn a lot from it myself.
But networking is not about taking; you must first give, and it should come naturally from within us. We do not come to such meetings with the expectation that we will leave with business—it may happen or it may not!
Unfortunately, it often happens, and I do not like it, that I have the feeling that many people come to networking only to take something for themselves. They speak for 3 minutes, and then when someone else is speaking, their attention is not focused on those people but on their phone and the messages
they are writing while others are speaking. I am not saying that everyone does this—oh no—but unfortunately it happens quite often.
❌ And this shows me a red warning sign that I do not want to build a relationship with such a person, with someone who is not interested in me but only in getting business from me.
❓ And what are your experiences with networking?
Many thanks to my wonderful companions whom I met at the event. <3
